I believe pain is sometimes necessary in order to grow. I suffered depression when I was 12years old and didnt understand why I couldnt feel anything but a heavy pain in my chest. I’ve often reflected on how strange it is that sometimes, we find our truest selves not in the light, but in the depths of pain. My journey to becoming the person I am today—outgoing, fulfilled, and secure—was shaped by a lot of pain and darkness. I was so scared of going through it, but doing so anyways might have saved my life.
Our traumas can be a silent shadow that followes everywhere we go, even when we don’t fully understand its name. Sometimes its easier to look away, pretending we will get over it, find comfort in the pain we got used to. But there will always be a time where we cannot look away any longer. Might that be sooner or later we can’t outrun our shadows and at some point the pain we made peace with, will creep up on us, forcing us to look it in the eye. Its not easy to face trauma. But let me tell you its so worth it.
Sometimes you need a wake up call—something happening in your life that makes it impossible to look away any longer. A moment where you know; you need to change something. Ridiculous how much it can sometimes take, to make us realise we need to take action. I started therapy and began to work on myself. I stopped looking away, trying to outrun the pain and distract myself with quick fixes like food, alcohol, attention. It was one of the most important lessons I ever learned; to accept myself fully. To stop hiding away the parts of my story I didnt like and start looking exactly there. It might be the most painful thing, but it also gives you the opportunity to grow your character in a way you would have never thought possible.
Today, I am happy—genuinely happy. I wake up with purpose, confidence, and a deep sense of fulfillment.
‘The Positivity Podcast’ was born from this journey. It’s my way of sharing the lessons I’ve learned, the struggles I’ve overcome, and the hope I’ve found. Through the podcast, I want to remind others that no matter how dark life feels, there is always a path forward. Healing isn’t linear, and it’s certainly not easy, but it is possible.
If you’re reading this and feeling lost, I want you to know that pain doesn’t have to define your story. The scars you carry can become a roadmap to your transformation. You are capable of growth, change, and joy—even if it feels out of reach right now.
My journey to finding myself wasn’t despite the pain I endured; it was because of it. And that’s what I hope to share with the world—one podcast episode, one story, and one moment of inspiration at a time.
It’s not always easy to open up about the hardest parts of life, but if it can inspire even one person to take their first step toward healing, it’s worth it. Remember: you are not alone, and brighter days are ahead.
Keep believing in yourself, even on the days when it feels impossible. Your best self is waiting for you on the other side of the struggle. 💛
