Sometimes life just feels overwhelming. You cant find the energy to do the things you want and need to do and even joyful things you love, do not feel so joyful at all. Everything seems just so hard and you are starting to wonder; whats wrong with me? Whats wrong with my life right now? And thats exactly what those periods are good for.
Life should not be linear. If you never experience any significant ups and downs you are either doing something wrong or you have a dead as monk mentality. If you never stay in your comfort zone and life phases like the above doesnt sound familiar then this blog is probably a waist of time for you. I’m like most people—stuggling a lot. But I learned one very important thing about whatever good or bad life throws at you—listen and learn.
Discomfort is only there to bring your attention to a part that needs healing. Like the pain of a broken arm is there to tell you to rest it—not just to annoy you. Having no pain would be dangerous for us, we wouldnt know that something is broken so we would never have the opportunity to make it heal and—at some point might just fall apart from all the broken, unhealed bones. So the next time you feel physical or mental pain; ask yourself—how can I heal this?
Sometimes that might be easier to detect then others, but its always worth investigating.
Because there is gonna be phases as well were everything just feels right, everything flows and you could’nt be happier. Life is a constant state of change, and without phases of frustration, sadness and everything going wrong—there couldnt be the phases of happiness, fullfillment and everything going right.
As difficult as this might sound—and believe me I’m on the same page, this is hard in practice—be thankful for the pain. It is there to help you, to guide you.
So listen, reflect and heal <3
